Ekuah Ramsey-Gilbert founder and CIO (Chief Inspiration Officer) of E.R.G. Consulting LLC brings over 16+ years experience in education as a Teacher, Counselor, Coach, Equity Coordinator, Family and Community Engagement Coordinator and Administrator. She currently holds a Bachelors and Masters of Science degree in Psychology, an Adult Education teaching credential, Pupil Personnel Services in Counseling credential, Administrative Services credential as well as a Diversity and Inclusion certification from Cornell University. Additionally, she holds a plethora of professional development training, and certificates in the field of DEI, Cultural Proficiency, Conflict Mediation and Restorative Practices.
About 10 years ago while working as a high school counselor, Ekuah noticed a lack of preparation and professional development opportunities given to educators focused around DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION (DEI). Understanding the importance of DEI within education, she began to expand her knowledge and hone in on her area of passion and expertise. Her goal was to build the capacity of educators to be culturally aware and responsive to students and families they were serving. Additionally, she wanted to support school personnel to navigate the challenges and help create system wide response to inequity and build environments where students, staff and families felt like they belong. While doing this, Ekuah also recognized the taxed capacity of leadership at school sites. Subsequently, she began to create ways to partner with Administrators to help lead the work of DEI to support and foster student success. Out of this, E.R.G. Consulting LLC (Educating with CARE) was established.
A native of Sacramento California, Ekuah is a wife and mother of 3 school aged children. Ekuah's vested interest in the education of minority, underserved, and underrepresented students encourages her to continue to sit on School Site Council boards, Superintendent Parent Advisory Committees and partner with community organizations to support youth.
Additionally, a former Division 1 collegiate and professional athlete, Ekuah continues to enjoy sports (especially basketball) and is actively involved in her 3 children's sporting and performing arts adventures. She is currently the Founder and CIO of the non-profit organization "Elite Development Programs" where she supports youth in sport development and life discipline.
